Sentencing date sent for former PUD chief

Convicted embezzler Steven Grimm will be sentenced on Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the Nevada County Superior Court Truckee division.

The original sentencing hearing for Grimm was scheduled for Nov. 25, but his lawyer filed a motion to continue Grimm’s restitution hearing.

Last month Grimm entered a no-contest plea to charges of that he stole more than $300,000 from the Donner Summit Public Utility District while he was general manager at the public agency and his wife, Sandra Harmon, sat on the board of directors.

The Norden resident could face a maximum four-year prison sentence and a two-year enhancement.

As a condition of his plea, Grimm will also pay $384,000 restitution to the utility district.
