Sierra Sun hires news reporter

TAHOE/TRUCKEE and#8212; The Sierra Sun and North Lake Tahoe Bonanza have hired a news reporter, Margaret Moran, who began her new role in Truckee and North Tahoe on Monday.

Most recently, Moran worked for the Lake Placid News, in Lake Placid, N.Y., as a staff writer, covering everything from sporting events to local meetings.

She graduated from Ithaca College in New York in May 2010 with a bachelorand#8217;s degree in journalism and minored in political science. In college she served as a copy editor for the student-run newspaper, The Ithacan.



and#8220;Iand#8217;m excited to become the newest member of the Sierra Sun and North Lake Tahoe Bonanza,and#8221; Moran said. and#8220;I look forward to covering the North Shore and getting to meet the people in the area.and#8221;

Her interests include hiking, kayaking, reading, cooking and watching movies.



Moran replaces former reporter Jenell Schwab, who left the newspapers in June.
