Ski resorts eye season openings
With an abundance of snowfall from recent storms, many North Lake Tahoe and Truckee ski resorts have announced plans to open this weekend. Boreal, Heavenly and Mt. Rose are already open, with the following ski resorts opening on Saturday, Nov. 21:
Squaw Valley USA, with night operations beginning Saturday, Dec. 19.
Alpine Meadows
Donner Ski Ranch
Kirkwood Ski Resort
Northstar-at-Tahoe
Sugar Bowl
Several ski resorts will be opening Thanksgiving weekend:
Royal Gorge Cross-Country, open weekends and daily starting Nov. 28.
Diamond Peak Cross-Country
Lakeview cross-country
Northstar-at-Tahoe Cross-Country
Soda Springs
Spooner Lake Cross-Country
Tahoe Donner Cross Country
Future openings:
Diamond Peak, Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Ski Homewood, Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Granlibakken, Friday, Dec. 18.
Resort at Squaw Creek Cross- Country, mid-December.
