Small quake rattles Truckee

A minor quake hit Placer County near the Nevada border early Thursday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injury.The magnitude-4.5 temblor hit just before 2 a.m. about six miles north of Kings Beach, along the northern shore of Lake Tahoe, according to the U.S. Geological Service. Suzanne Johnson, a Placer county dispatcher, said the quake caused no damage or injuries, but scared some residents.”We just got some scared people woken up,” she said. “I’ve never been in an earthquake and I thought someone hit the building with their car.”
