Colder temperatures and 3 inches of snow are expected this weekend, according to the National Weather Service Office in Reno.
A minor storm is pushing into the area for the weekend. It’s current trajectory is the inner Sierra and Reno. Reno can expect some snowfall on Sunday, Dec. 3.
Truckee and Tahoe will be breezy starting Saturday afternoon, Dec.2,  with gusts up to 40 mph. This will continue into the evening when precipitation is expected to start.
“We can expect sprinkling at first, but snow levels are falling pretty quickly. There’s not a ton of moisture with this system, so maybe up to 3 inches of snow or so,” said Marvin Boyd, meteorologist for the National Weather Service Office in Reno.
After that, conditions are going to get colder. Sunday night temperatures will be in the mid-teens, and get down to the single digits in Truckee come Monday night, Dec. 4.
