Soul to Solstice wellness weekend is June 17-19 at Lake Tahoe

Staff report

With the change in seasons comes an opportunity to reboot and reignite your spirit.

With that, the Resort at Squaw Creek is hosting the property’s inaugural Soul to Solstice wellness weekend June 17-19. The retreat includes indoor and outdoor programming, including guest speakers that inspire, outdoor pursuits, yoga and Pilates classes and more.

The weekend kicks off on Friday with a welcome “Healthy Happy Hour” for participants to mingle, and Zents mini treatments also will be provided.

Keynote speaker Donna Hartley on Saturday will share her story of survival with, “Fire up your Life: A Journey of Transformation.”

Hartley’s empowering story of survival draws from her three life-threatening events, all of which ironically occurred on dates of March 1. She is a former Miss Hawaii who inspires personal leadership and gives proven strategies for mastering change in life.

The Sunday program begins with sunrise flow yoga followed by the day’s keynote speaker, Norma Jean Bowers, who will speak about her experience as the first woman to summit Denali in Alaska, solo.

Her motivational speech, “Denali Solo: Realizing Your Dream,” will show how focus and believing in yourself can help anyone reach their goals and dreams.

The weekend also features various classes and other events; all Soul to Solstice yoga and Pilates classes are provided in conjunction with Tahoe Mountain Fitness.
