Southwest Gas pipeline work to impact Tahoe City traffic

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; On Monday, Southwest Gas begin work on its natural gas pipeline system south of Tahoe City on Highway 89, between Grimsel Pass Road and Wilson Avenue. The work is being done to meet customer needs for natural gas in the areas and is expected to be completed in October.

According to a Southwest Gas press release, the project is in conjunction with a stormwater project by Caltrans, which includes rehabbing drainage and treatment systems and installing curbs and gutters to protect Lake Tahoeand#8217;s water quality.

Traffic in Tahoe City along Highway 89 will be impacted between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday-Thursday, during the project. Restricted travel lanes will impact traffic flow, and minor delays are expected.
