Lake Tahoe School casts itself as "The small school with a big education." Small but mighty has increasingly come to describe the school's athletic program as well.

Competing in the TAH-NEVA League, the eighth-grade girls team — with three eighth-graders and four seventh-graders — coasted to an undefeated regular-season record behind the dominating play of Incline Village's Taylor Redfern.

Redfern this season set an unofficial TAH-NEVA League record for most points scored in a game by a female with 33 points against Whittell.

At last week's TAH-NEVA Championships, the Lake Tahoe School eighth-grade team won its opening-round game against Truckee's Alder Creek Middle School, then had to learn to lose gracefully in the semifinal game against the top-seeded team from Gardnerville.
