Runners representing Lake Tahoe and Northern Nevada high schools dressed up as GI Joes, donned wedding dresses, scuba gear and even a sasquatch costume on Friday at the annual South Tahoe Optimist Retro Relays meet.Truckeeandamp;#8217;s girls andamp;#8212; Carly Clusserath, Gaby Garcia, Lilly Doerner and Ruby Wood andamp;#8212; finished third in the relay behind Damonte Ranch and McQueen, while Kyle Jorgensen led the Truckee boys with a second-place finish individually. Jorgensen completed the 2-mile course around Viking Bowl in a time of 13 minutes, 17 seconds. Truckeeandamp;#8217;s Cameron Montano placed seventh in 14:45, Simeon Murphy was 10th in 14:55, Josh Cassity was 11th in 15:01 and Dylan Jones 20th in 16:38.Fenja Hass led the Truckee girls in fourth place racing individually, posting a time of 17:03.The Lakers, meanwhile, traveled to compete in the Pacific Grove (Calif.) Invitational, where they raced individually by grade on a 5,000-meter course. In the 12th-grade race, Carson Clark finished eighth with a time of 17:04 to lead North Tahoe. Clark was followed by teammates Hugo Ramirez in 16th (17:38), Griffen Lancaster in 38th (18:54), Luke Funicella in 48th (19:29) and John Baker in 55th (20:09). For the Laker girls, Carly Clusserath finished 13th in the 12th-grade race with a time of 23:00 and Roxanna Cabrera placed 22nd in 25:05.Taylor Lewis was 30th with a time of 26:02 in the 11th-grade race. In the 10th-grade race, Patrick McElravey was fourth in 17:38 and Sean McDermott 10th in 18:10, and in the ninth grade, Noah McDermott took second (17:53) and Fletcher McConnell was fourth (18:06).
