Highlanders pin down Truckee

The Incline Highlander wrestling team defeated host Truckee 48-18 in a dual meet on Wednesday night.
The small Wolverine squad trailed 0-24 from the get-go after giving up forfeits in the 103-, 130-, 140-, 215- and 285-pound weight classes. The Highlanders forfeited one match in the 145-pound class.
Truckee senior Tim Curtis moved up from the 171-pound weight class to 189 and pinned Callen Haughian in the opening match. Curtis jumped out to an early 11-2 lead.
Then 119-pounder Kyle Mullen dropped a 5-2 decision. Ryan Pearce was pinned in the second period by Riley Warren in the 125-pound match.
Bobby Waters, at 135 pounds, pinned Logan Cohen in the third period. At 145 pounds, Nick Krasensky received a forfeit.
Cole Hodges, a senior wrestling at 152 pounds, was pinned by Matt Behren in the third period, and at 160 pounds Robert Raber lost a close match 4-6.

A few exhibition matches took place, as well, with Truckee’s Ryan Pearce pinning Jimmy Mancuso, Nick Krasensky winning by decision, Tim Curtis technical falling Cody Parker 21-5, and Bobby Waters winning an exciting quadruple overtime match over Riley Warren.
Because of a change in scheduling, Truckee will travel to Burney Falls ” instead of Tonopah ” for a tournament this weekend.
