Incline High senior wins state title in 100-yard dash

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — The Incline High School boys and girls track and field teams put in a series of hard-fought performances at Carson High School on Friday afternoon and again Saturday morning for the NIAA Division III state championships.

In the end, the boys team finished in sixth place with 51 points, just a few points behind Battle Mountain (58 points) and White Pine (56 points).

The highlight for the boys was senior sprinter Matt Colby, who won the individual state title in the 100-meter dash for his first-place time of 11.70 seconds. Ryan Eppolito also ran to a pair of second-place finishes in the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs.

The girls, meanwhile, finished ninth at the state meet with 25 points, just behind Pershing County's 30 points.

Leading the way for the girls team was the 4×100-meter relay team of Belle Johnson, Kira Porter, Raquel Oliver and Kandace Dirga, who finished third with a time of 54.30 seconds.
