Incline volleyball | Highlanders bound for regional playoffs

Megan Golden and the Highlanders will travel to Fernley for the Northern Division III regional tournament on Nov. 8.

The playoff-bound Incline volleyball team finished the regular season with a three-set sweep against visiting Silver Stage on Friday and a 3-1 loss at Yerington on Saturday.

Yerington, which finished as the top Northern Division III seed, at 12-0 (31-2 overall), had not dropped a single set in league play until Saturday. The Highlanders won the second set convincingly, 25-14. But the Lions won the other three, 25-11, 25-16, 25-23.

The Highlanders, who posted a final league record of 9-3, will enter the Northern Division III regional tournament as either the second or third seed. They'll be joined in the regional tournament by Yerington, Pershing County (9-3) and North Tahoe (5-7).

Regionals will be contested at Fernley High School on Nov. 8 — moved from West Wendover. The top two teams from regionals advance to the state championship, which is scheduled for Nov. 14-15 at Wooster High School and Hug High School in Reno.
