IVGID Tip: Females — now is a great time to pick up golf
June 2, 2016
INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. — Some women are intimidated to get into golf because they had a negative experience, or they think they might get laughed at, stared at, etc.
The reality is that golf is more welcoming to women now than ever. Here are a few ways women can get started or more involved in golf this season at the Incline Village Golf Courses.
1. Join a Get Golf Ready clinic series: Get Golf Ready is designed to teach everything you'll need to play golf in just five lessons, for only $135. I'm also offering a few Level 2 sessions for Get Golf Ready 1 graduates or golfers who have played two or more years. These courses are open to both men and women but seem to be more popular with women because most women thrive in a group setting.
2. Attend the free Ladies Chip & Sip on Women's Golf Day: On June 7 at 5:30 p.m., I'll be teaching a clinic on chipping and putting at the Championship Course, followed by a happy hour mixer at The Grille where I'll give some more golf-related tips. Register online at bit.ly/ladiesclinic.
3. Take a private lesson with a professional: With that, be open to taking instruction from a man or a woman. I'm available for lessons but if I'm not available, you're in good hands with any of our male golf professionals. Our team of instructors are highly motivated and educated and have seen many different ability levels. Getting private instruction from a pro can really help you improve, increasing your enjoyment of the game and lowering your score.
4. Join a local golf club: The Mountain Niners and Incline Village Teesters invite IVGID Picture Pass Holders to join their clubs. This is a great way to meet other golfers and have fun! Golf clubs arrange scheduled tee times, tournaments and socials throughout the season. I hope to see you out on the course soon.
