Lakers finish as top Northern team

The North Tahoe High School boys' golf team wrapped up their season at the NIAA 2A Nevada State Boys Golf Championship, outplaying their two Northern Region counterparts for a third-place performance on Tuesday, May 16.

"Win, lose or draw our team had an outstanding year," Head Coach Steve Munro said in an email to the Sierra Sun. "We won every league 2A tournament this year just coming up short in the regionals and state."

The Lakers entered postseason play on Friday, May 12 with the Northern Region tournament at the Jackpot Golf Club.

North Tahoe finished second out of six full teams at the tournament, shooting a combined score of 481 over 18 holes at the par-72 course to qualify the team for the state tournament.
