Little League report: ‘Kardiak Kids’ racking up wins

Game: Cubs at Aand#8217;s, May 17

Score: Aand#8217;s 5, Cubs 4

Batting Stars: Trevor Talpas had three hits, including a double and scored two runs and drove in one. Jack Englert had two hits, driving in a run, Luke Kirsch had two hits, scoring a run, and Miles Guiragossian had the key hit of the day to drive in the winning run. JJ Bellon also had a key double, driving in a run, and scored two.

Fielding Stars: Miles Guiragossian pitched 4 2/3 strong innings and Max Wingard came in to get the last out of the fifth and then shut down the Cubs in the bottom of the sixth to earn the win.

General: The Truckee Aand#8217;s, aka the “Kardiac Kids,” notched their third straight come-from-behind win in the sixth inning. After three innings of shutout ball from each pitcher, the Cubs struck first with two runs in the top of the fourth. The Aand#8217;s responded with two in the bottom of the fourth. The Cubs then went ahead with two in the fifth. This set the scene for the Aand#8217;s, who scored three in the bottom of the sixth with one out, then finished with a walk-off hit by Miles Guiragossian.

Game: Aand#8217;s at Giants, May 15

Score: Aand#8217;s 8, Giants 7

Batting Stars: Miles Guiragossian was the undoubted hero of the day with a clutch, game-tying three-run home run in the sixth inning. Miles also had a single and a double, driving in a total of four runs and scoring two. Jack Englert had two hits, including a triple, and knocked in two runs and scored one. Trevor Talpas had two hits, including a double, and scored two runs, Max Wingard had two hits, including a double, and scored the winning run, and Jayden Commendatorre also had two hits and scored two.

Fielding Stars: Luke Kirsch made a great play on a line drive and had eight put-outs for the day. Kyle Nicely had a good day with four assists at second base, and Jack Englert in center and Trevor Talpas at third made excellent plays. Trevor Talpas pitched four strong innings and then Jack Englert pitched an effective fifth, with Max Wingard coming in to shut out the Giants in the bottom of the sixth to earn the win.

General: It was another cliff-hanger for the Aand#8217;s, as the Giants jumped out to a quick lead with two runs in the first and one in the second to take a 3-0 lead. The Aand#8217;s fought back to tie it with two runs in the third and one in the fourth. The Giants then jumped out to a 7-3 lead with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The Aand#8217;s responded, led by Miles Guiragossianand#8217;s three-run home run, with five in the sixth to narrowly take the victory.

Game: Incline Village at Aand#8217;s, May 12

Score: Aand#8217;s 9, Incline Village 8

Batting Stars: Jack Englert was 2 for 3 with a triple and four runs batted in. Trevor Talpas went 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI. Miles Guiragossian was 2 for 2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. JJ Bellon had two hits, including a game-winning double. Jayden Commendatorre had a hit and scored the winning run. Tristen Nicholas scored the tying run in the bottom of the sixth

Fielding Stars: Miles Guiragossian pitched two shutout innings before Jack Englert pitched a perfect third. Luke Kirsch, JJ Bellon, and Max Wingard all pitched well in relief. Miles and Max executed a perfect pick-off at third base in the first inning,

General: It was a fantastic game that saw the Aand#8217;s take a 6-0 lead after three innings. Incline Village then clawed back to eventually go ahead with three runs in the top of the sixth. The Aand#8217;s then staged their own comeback, scoring two runs with two out in the bottom of the sixth to pull out the victory.

Batting Stars: Joe Walker and Miles Guiragossian each had three hits to lead the Aand#8217;s. Jayden Commendatorre had two hits, including a perfect suicide squeeze bunt in the sixth inning.

Fielding Stars: Trevor Talpas started and pitched well for 5 1/3 innings until he reached his pitch count. He struck out seven on the way to his second win. Jack Englert came in to finish off the game and earned his second save. Jayden Commendatorre, Miles Guiragossian and Trevor Talpas ended the game with a well-executed and#8220;pickle.and#8221;

General: It was another good battle between the Cubs and Aand#8217;s, as it remained close until the Aand#8217;s struck for four runs in the top of the sixth. The Cubs responded with three of their own in the bottom of the sixth, with Jack Englert shutting them down to save the game for the Aand#8217;s.
