The North Tahoe baseball team plays at Incline on Tuesday and is scheduled to host a doubleheader against the Highlanders at North Tahoe Regional Park on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The North Tahoe softball team also plays at Incline on Tuesday and plays a doubleheader at Yerington on April 11.
The North Tahoe baseball team ran into a tough Battle Mountain squad on the road this past Friday and Saturday. The longhorns swept the series, 10-0, 10-0 and 12-2.
The Lakers managed two hits off of Battle Mountain starter Quinton Defoor in the opener, one each by Mitchell Myers and Miles Johansen. Defoor recorded five strikeouts and one walk in a five-inning complete game.
Myers started on the mound for North Tahoe and went four innings, allowing seven runs while striking out four.
North Tahoe picked up its offense in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader, finishing with seven hits. Johansen went 3-for-3 with a double and Lingruen was 2-for-3. Myers had a double and Graham Payne singled.
Worth Nelson pitched a shutout with six strikeouts for the Longhorns, while Johansen, Lingruen and Drew Austin pitched for North Tahoe. Lingruen had three strikeouts in two innings and Johansen struck out two in three innings.
The Lakers had five hits in the series finale, with Lingruen and Earley delivering two hits apiece, and Victor Munoz picking up the other hit.

Battle Mountain pitchers Bryan Chavira and Frank Peters combined for the shutout.
The Longhorns improved to 5-1 in Northern Division III play (10-4 overall), with the one loss coming against Yerington. North Tahoe dropped to 0-6 in league (0-7-2 overall).
The North Tahoe softball team also lost three games against Battle Mountain.
