North Tahoe soccer: Lakers set to contend for state titles

After splitting their two regular-season games, the North Tahoe and Truckee boys are set to meet in the semifinal round of the Division III state championship tournament.

The North Tahoe girls and boys soccer teams will contend for titles in the Division III state championship tournament, which will be held at Incline this Friday and Saturday.

North Tahoe’s girls (11-1-2) earned the No. 1 seed and will face fourth-seeded White Pine (8-6) in the semifinal round Friday at 4 p.m. The third-seeded Laker boys (9-3) will play second-seeded rival Incline (10-2) on Friday at 2 p.m.

The North Tahoe and Incline boys split their two regular-season games, while the North Tahoe girls defeated White Pine in both meetings.



On the other side of the bracket, Whittell’s second-seeded girls (11-1-2) will face third-seeded Incline (10-1-2), and the top-seeded West Wendover boys (11-1) will face fourth-seeded Yerington (4-6-2).

The semifinal winners will square off for the state championship on Saturday. The girls championship starts at 11 a.m., with the boys following at 1 p.m.
