North Tahoe volleyball | Lakers beat Longhorns, fall to Mustangs

The North Tahoe volleyball team split a pair of league matches on the road this past Friday and Saturday.

The Lakers opened the road trip with a loss in straight sets at Pershing County, 12-25, 17-25, 8-25. They rebounded the next day to earn a win in straights sets at Battle Mountain, 25-21, 25-24, 25-3.

Against Pershing County, junior Sherene Clegg posted four kills, four blocks and a service ace, while Jordan Briggs contributed three kills, three blocks and 11 digs.

Rikki Partain finished with three kills, a block and seven digs, Jacki Partain had two kills and nine digs, Tilley Gibeaut had a block and 15 digs, Jamie Dodge had nine assists and 13 digs, and Helena had an ace and 22 digs.

North Tahoe stats were not available from the Battle Mountain match.

The Lakers, who improved to 3-5 in Northern Division III play, are scheduled to host Yerington on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and play at West Wendover on Saturday. North Tahoe plays at rival Incline on Oct. 21.
