North Tahoe volleyball | Lakers take down West Wendover on road

The North Tahoe volleyball team defeated West Wendover in straight sets on the road Saturday, 25-7, 25-21, 25, 14.

Juniors Jordan Briggs and Rikki Partain led the Lakers' attack with nine kills and two blocks apiece, while Jill Arigiris had four kills and Sherene Clegg had three.

Partain also had four service aces and 10 digs, and Briggs had 11 digs and three aces.

Helana Kearns and Jacki Partain each had eight digs, while Tilley Gibeaut had seven digs and Jamie Dodge six digs. Kearns and Dodge contributed three aces apiece.

The Lakers, who improved to 4-6 in the Northern Division III, play league matches at Incline on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and at Silver Stage on Thursday. They host Division I Hug next Monday at 6 p.m.

The top four league teams qualify for the regional championship tournament, which is scheduled for Nov. 8-9 at West Wendover. Division standings were not available.
