Northern 3A All-League, All-State basketball: Six Truckee girls honored

Sylas Wright/Sierra SunTruckee junior Megan Shalvis was voted to both the 3A All-State and Northern 3A All-League first team.

Six players on the Truckee High girls basketball team were honored with Northern 3A All-League selections.

Senior Annie Rodriguez and junior Megan Shalvis were voted to the All-League first team, while senior Katy Stephens was voted to the second team and Aleigh Krug, Brooke Griffin and Aly Coronado-Smith received honorable mention recognition.

Mary Suing of Spring Creek was voted Most Valuable Player, and Spring Creek’s Sarah Arendt was Coach of the Year.

The selections were voted on by head coaches in the Northern 3A.

In 3A All-State voting, Shalvis made the first team, while Rodriguez and Stephens made the second team and Griffin and Krug received honorable mention.

Suing was voted state MVP, while Lowry’s Jack Smith was voted All-State Coach of the Year.
