Competing in a 32-racer, single-elimination bracket, Wingard won all five of his head-to-head races, including the final against Danner Hillman of Douglas. Wingard defeated Whittell’s Payton Norton in the semifinal round.

Truckee teammate Noah Williams was eliminated by Hillman in the semifinal and finished fourth, while Drew Wingard and Dakota Allen both skied into the round of 16.

That helped Truckee’s boys take the team win with a high score of 159 points. South Tahoe’s boys were second with 130 points and were followed by Douglas (122), Whittell (113) and Carson (51).

The North Tahoe and Incline boys, which tied for sixth with 40 points, each had only one racer. Incline’s Winston Pretti was eliminated by Max Wingard in the quarterfinal round, and North Tahoe’s Kazimer Sosnowski was eliminated by Williams in the quarterfinal.

In the girls competition, Incline sophomore Belle Johnson swept through the bracket to earn her third consecutive Tahoe Basin League victory. Johnson beat South Tahoe’s Tatum Whatford in the final and Whittell’s Madison Idso in the semifinal.

With all five scoring racers skiing into the round of 16 or better, South Tahoe’s girls earned a resounding win over second-place Douglas, 175-128. Whittell’s girls were third with 105 points, followed by Incline (96) and Carson (76).

The Truckee and North Tahoe girls had only one racer apiece and tied for sixth with 25 points. Truckee’s Cami Jahchan and North Tahoe’s Katie Plexico both made it to the round of 16, while Incline’s Hannah Laurie skied into the quarterfinal.

The Vikings also claimed the overall win with 305 points between their boys and girls teams. They were trailed by Douglas (250), Whittell (218), Truckee (184), Incline (136), Carson (127) and North Tahoe (65).
