Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs

Event officials for the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs are seeking volunteers to assist with the 55K, 50-mile and 100-mile races. The runs, which start and end at Spooner Lake, begin the morning of Saturday, July 18. The 100-mile race begins at 5 a.m. and the 55K and 50-mile races start at 6 a.m. Those interested in volunteering should contact volunteer coordinator Kati Bell at trtvolunteer@gmail.com or race director George Ruiz at trt-rd@att.net or 775-721-0750. Donner Lake Triathlon



The 44th Donner Lake Triathlon will return to West End Beach on July 25-26. The historic event, put on by Big Blue Adventure, features five races, with a sprint and kids triathlon on Saturday, July 25, and the Olympic, half Ironman distance and aquathon on Sunday, July 26. Racing begins at 7:30 a.m. each day. Registration is available at donnerlaketri.com.

Squaw Mountain Run



The 35th Annual Squaw Mountain Run is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1. The event, which benefits Auburn Ski Club’s junior programs and the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center, starts at the 6,200-foot base of Squaw Valley and climbs 3.6 miles up Mountain Run to High Camp, at 8,200 feet. Sierra Crest 30K/50K

The Auburn Ski Club will present the inaugural Sierra Crest 30K/50K on Saturday, Aug. 8. The event is a point-to-point trail run that takes advantage of some of the Truckee/Donner Summit region’s best singletrack. Boulder Bash

The second annual Boulder Bash competition and climbing festival will return to Donner Summit on Aug. 21-22. The event is a fundraiser presented by Tahoe Sports Hub and benefiting the the Truckee Donner Land Trust’s efforts to purchase the iconic Black Wall climbing area on Donner Summit and keep it free and open to the public. The weekend will include an all-ages competition, slide show and presentation by Lisa Rands, free climbing clinics, free after-party and more.
