Tahoe-Truckee sports briefs: 14th Tahoe Sierra Century bike race set for Saturday
September 12, 2016
Final preparations are underway for the 14th annual Tahoe Sierra Century on Saturday, Sept. 17. Riders begin and end at the Village at Squaw Valley and choose a 30, 60, or 100 mile route through North Tahoe, Truckee and the High Sierra. Riders will enjoy challenging hill climbs, spectacular scenery, and excellent support both on the course and at the after-ride dinner.
"This is my favorite ride of the year," longtime rider Ed Chan told ride organizers. "Everyone is so friendly, particularly the kids who play their instruments along the course. I always have a great time."
The TSC is hosted by the North Tahoe Middle and High School band community and all proceeds benefit public music education.
Individual and group rates are available for registration at http://www.tahoesierracentury.com.
Humane Society to host inaugural golf tournament
