Zeke Straw and Eric Park compete in the 35th Annual Northstar Open Tennis Tournament.

The 35th Annual Northstar Open Tennis Tournament took place in picture-perfect late summer conditions this past weekend.

Zeke Straw, Northstar Tennis Director, put together quite an event highlighted by a bevy of top-ranked players — including the area's amazing locals, international talent, Belarus Davis Cup player Anton Stryhas, Head Pro Guillaume Tonelli and Cody Kohlmoos, Northstar Pros, and a slew of top-ranked collegiate players from France.

For most, the Northstar Open is a fun yearly event that caps off the summer nicely, but there was also additional incentive to win in the form of tennis prize money in the Open Division.

Northstar Vacation Rentals also sponsored luxury vacation properties, ski passes and sailing sunset cruises.

Guillaume Tonelli and Philip Frayssinoux were edged by fellow friends and French talent Sylvan Malroux and Moez Chargui, a former No. 1 player for University of Nevada, Reno, in a final match of the day thriller, 7-5, 6-4.

Straw and Eric Park's 4.5 Doubles Men's team prevailed over Zephyr Cove rival team Ray Fugitt and Ross Rittiman, 6-3, 6-2.
