After traveling nine hours to Southern California to compete in the world’s largest cross country meet, the Mt. San Antonio College Cross Country Invitational, the Wolverines showed that they’re a quality team.

The Truckee boys placed second as a team in the Division 4 race with a total of 109 points.

Truckee sophomore Micah Silver placed second with a time of 16:42 while senior Spencer Wood was eighth in 17:16 and Kyle Britto 40th.

“We had some exceptional performances,” said Truckee head coach Robby McClendon. “The boys need to carry this momentum into the regional meet. We will be facing a very tough Lowry team.

“I believe we have a great chance to win state. Lowry is a good team but everyone has good day and bad day.”

The Truckee girls also had a great showing at the Southern California meet, with senior Kelsey Waters leading the pack in 60th place with the time of 24:16. Close behind Waters were Gina Krauss and Kelsey Dion, who placed 69th and 83rd, respectively, out of 180 runners.
