TRUCKEE, Calif. — Truckee volleyball coach Erika Murphy said she switched up the Wolverines' offensive system last week to take advantage of their outside hitters. It's working.
Led by Maia Dvoracek and Madison Bromley's power at the net, the Wolverines rolled to consecutive 3-0 sweeps over the weekend.
Truckee shut out Spring Creek (25-19, 25-6, 25-22) on Friday before toppling Elko (25-18, 25-16, 25-16) on Saturday in 3A Northern matches at Truckee High School.
Dvoracek finished the weekend with 30 kills while Bromley added 17. Jordan Brown was the lead distributor, penciling in 37 set assists. Defensively, Bromley totaled 17 digs. Mia Curtis and Sara Gran-Nilsson had 14 apiece.
The Wolverines were also bolstered by strong showings from the service line, highlighted by a sizzling 96 percent serving rate in Saturday's win over Elko.
Earlier in the week, Dvoracek and Bromley had 19 kills apiece, lifting the Truckee to a 3-1 win (25-12, 19-25, 25-23, 25-17) over Fallon in 3A Northern action Tuesday.
