Truckee soccer: Boys, girls advance to state championships with semifinal wins

Senior Max Brixey scored five goals to help lead the Truckee boys to an 11-0 win over Boulder City in a state championship semifinal Friday in Mesquite. The Wolverines will face Faith Lutheran for the 3A state championship on Saturday.

The Truckee girls followed with a 3-0 win over Pahrump Valley to advance to Saturday’s 3A state championship, also against Faith Lutheran.

According to Mesquite Local News reports, Truckee goals came in this order in the boys’ game: Michael Brixey, Max Brixey, Michael Brixey, Max Brixey, Sal Tejeda, Max Brixey, Max Brixey, Egberto Spricigo, Raul Cardenas, Robby Heck, and Max Brixey.



In the girls’ game, Stephanie O’Neil scored Truckee’s first goal, and was followed by Jordan Tollison and Kelsi Decker, according to the Mesquite Local News.
