The Truckee boysand#8217; and girlsand#8217; soccer teams earned Sierra League wins at Dayton on Thursday, as the girls won 3-0 and the boys 5-1.

Truckee girlsand#8217; head coach Amy Valdivia said she was pleased to see her team play with heart, intensity and creativity while and#8220;playing complete soccerand#8221; for an entire game and#8211; something the Wolverines had yet to do this season, she said.

Serena Dill put the Wolverines on the board with a goal assisted by Kelsi Decker in the 12th minute. Shuana Day then gave Truckee a 2-0 lead when she scored off an assist from Claire Roberts just one minute later, and Day connected again, assisted by Dill, in the 40th minute to round out the scoring.

Valdivia said while the Dust Devils had some strong players up top, Truckeeand#8217;s defenders did a commendable job keeping them from getting anything going. Alex Mezger, who recently moved to the sweeper position, played particularly well, Valdivia said.
