The Truckee girls soccer team defeated visiting Lowry 5-0 on Friday and shut out Fernley by the same score on the road Monday with the help of Daisy Rivera’s two goals.

The pair of wins adjusted the Wolverines’ league record to 10-1-2, which puts them in a tie with Spring Creek (10-1-2) for second place.

Truckee and Spring Creek, which played to a 1-1 tie on Sept. 13, square off at Truckee’s Surprise Stadium this Saturday at noon — senior farewell — in a game that could determine the second Northern Division I-A seed in the regional tournament. Both teams have secured playoff berths.

The Spartans, however, play at first-place South Tahoe (12-0-1) on Friday, while the Wolverines do not have to face the Vikings again during the regular season. Truckee does have to face fourth-place Elko (6-4-4) on Friday.

The Northern Division I-A regional tournament will be played at Truckee’s Riverview Sports Park on Nov. 7-8.
