Truckee Tahoe Junior Golf standings heat up after match at Resort at Squaw Creek

The Resort at Squaw Creek hosted the fourth leg of the 2017 Truckee Tahoe Junior Golf Tour on a beautiful summer day, on Tuesday, July 25, in Squaw Valley.
The golf course was in solid condition for the juniors as Squaw Creek's Head Superintendent Jonathon Moulton continues to do an outstanding job in one of the most amazing golf settings in the country.
Murphy Scott from Tahoe City fired a 74 to win the 14-17 boys' age group at the Resort at Squaw Creek's par-71 course. Scott's North Tahoe High School teammate Connor Hipsley and Ethan Flynn of Truckee tied for second at 82. Connor Sweeney finished fourth with an 87, followed by Jack Brown.
In the competitive girls' 12-14 age group, Sofia de Wit shot a 38 over nine holes to lead the pack. Stella de Wit finished second with a 44. Ryan Flynn came in third with a 46, and Haley McCormick was fourth at 47. Four girls broke 50 on the tough links golf course. McCormick and Stella de Wit are tied for first place with 11 Cup points each going into the final tournament at Gray's Crossing on Aug. 9.
Gabe Smith won yet another first place medal with a score of 41 over nine holes to win the 12-13 boys' age group. Smith has won all three of the individual events in his age group this season. Everett Grass took second place with a 57. Zach Anttila finished third with Diego Rodriguez close behind in fourth.
Aidan Sweeney took the 10-11 boys' age group win, and added to his series lead with a 46 over nine holes of play. Jaxen Perryman of Tahoe City is quickly establishing himself as a player to be reckoned with, finishing closely behind at 48. Hunter Neave, Luke Brown and Trevor Buti finished at 55, 56 and 59, respectively. Neave, Perryman and Brown are running a tight second in cup points with 8, 8.5 and 10.5, respectively. But Sweeney is going to be tough to catch with 15 points going into the final event of the season at Gray's Crossing.

Isabella Berry finished first in the girls' 15-17 age group, followed by Lily Olson. Abbey McCormick continued to fill up her trophy case with another first place medal in the girls' 8-9 age group. Sienna de Wit showed again she is ready to compete in the 10-11 girls' age group with a 51. Newcomer Jake Reinhard took first place in the boys' 8-9 age group with a 50.
