The Truckee volleyball team defended its home court on Friday with a win in straight sets against South Tahoe, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23.

Junior Madison Haley was named Truckee's Player of the Match after tallying six kills, a block, a service ace and three digs.

Truckee sophomore Maia Dvoracek finished with a team-high 13 kills to go along with her one block and six digs, while Taylor Stevens and Anais Fay each recorded five kills.

Stevens also had six digs, Fay and Tori Simpson each had five digs, and Katie Fisher, Katherine Englert and Lauren Anderson each had one block.

The win marked the third straight for the Wolverines, who improved to 6-1 in Northern Division I-A play and 9-7 overall. Truckee hosted Dayton (4-4) on Tuesday, but the match ended too late for publication.

Truckee trails only Elko (8-0) in the league standings, while Lowry is third at 5-1 and South Tahoe fourth at 4-3.

The Wolverines are scheduled to host Sparks on Friday at 6 p.m. before hitting the road to face Fallon next Tuesday and Lowry next Friday.
