Truckee wrestling | Carlos Ramirez 3rd, Tyler Curtis 4th at state

Truckee senior Carlos Ramirez led a small Wolverine contingent with a third-place finish at the 3A State Championships in Las Vegas this past weekend.
Truckeeand#8217;s Tyler Curtis, who finished fourth in his weight class, and Max Collinson also represented Truckee at state.
Ramirez, wrestling at 195 pounds, opened the tournament by pinning Colton Millington of Moapa Valley.
He then lost to Elkoand#8217;s Tyrone Mills in the semifinal round by fall to drop to the consolation bracket, where he defeated Lowryand#8217;s Juan Ochoa by fall, Millington again by fall and Ochoa once more by fall in the third-place match.
Frankie Badgely of Boulder City defeated Mills by a 9-7 decision in the 195-pound championship match.
Curtis, a junior who competed at 182 pounds, opened with a win by decision over Boulder Cityand#8217;s Cole Reynolds before losing to Ryan Nelson of Lowry by fall in the semifinal round.

Curtis went on to defeat Elkoand#8217;s Damian Benavides by fall and then was pinned in the third round by Moapa Valleyand#8217;s Parker Chappell in the third-place match.
Collinson, a senior, lost to Trevor Durham of Moapa Valley in the first round and then Salyas Conner of Fernley.
