The Truckee High varsity baseball team is 5-2 since last Tuesday.
The Wolverines beat Whittell 17-0 a week ago. Daniel Cramer pitched all five innings (the game only lasted five innings because of the 10-run rule). Cramer allowed only two hits while striking out seven Whittell batters.
At the plate for the Wolverines, Jason Chapman went 3 for 5 with a double and a home run; Scott Decker 2 for 3; Andrew Mazzini 1 for 3; John Hooper 2 for 2 with a double; Ben Tonon 2 for 2; Kevin Flynn 1 for 2; Justin McGowen 2 for 2; Morgan Harvey 1 for 2 with a home run and Cramer 2 for 4.
Truckee beat Hug 16-10 on Wednesday behind the pitching of Devin Shurtleff, Brendan Driscoll and Morgan Harvey.
Offensively, Chapman went 4 for 5; Decker 3 for 5; Mazzini 3 for 3; Hooper 2 for 5 with a double; Tonon 1 for 4; Keven Sahlberg 1 for 4 with a triple; Flynn 1 for 3; and Cramer 1 for 3. The Wolverines were 12 for 12 on stolen base attempts.
The Wolverines won both games of a doubleheader against Incline 20-0 and 19-2.

Sahlberg, a sophomore, threw a no-hitter in the first game (five innings), striking out 13 batters while walking three.
“(Sahlberg) was lights out,” Truckee coach Mike Ellis said of his pitcher. “It’s hard to focus when you’re up like that, but he did an awesome job.”
At the plate, Chapman went 3 for 4; Decker 2 for 4; Hooper 2 for 3; Cole Hodges 1 for 2 with a triple; Tonon 1 for 3; Sahlberg 2 for 4 with a double and triple; Greg Pearson 1 for 1; and Driscoll 2 for 3 with a triple.
Junior Paco Ruiz threw a one-hitter in the second game of the doubleheader (five innings) with Incline. Ruiz struck out 13 batters and walked two.
“That was good for those guys to step up,” Ellis said of Ruiz and Sahlberg.
Offensively, Chapman was 2 for 2 with a home run; Decker 2 for 4 with a double and triple; Mazzini 2 for 3; Hooper 2 for 3 with a double; Tonon 2 for 3; Pearson 1 for 1; Flynn 1 for 3; Harvey 2 for 2; and McGowen 1 for 2.
On Saturday Truckee lost both games of a doubleheader 11-7 and 14-4 against Dayton.
Tonon pitched Game 1. The highlight for the Wolverines in that game came in the third inning, when Driscoll and Chapman hit back-to-back home runs.
Chapman went 2 for 2 with a home run; Ruiz 2 for 2; Mazzini 2 for 4 with a double; Sahlberg 1 for 2; Flynn 1 for 4; Harvey 1 for 3; and Driscoll 1 for 3 with a home run.
Hooper pitched the second game of the doubleheader with Dayton.
At the plate, Chapman went 2 for 3 with a home run and double; Sahlberg 1 for 3; Hooper 1 for 2; Tonon 1 for 3; and Harvey 1 for 1.
The Wolverines beat Quincy 8-7 in nine innings on Monday. Shurtleff started on the mound before Cramer came in for relief in the second inning. Cramer gave up one run in eight innings to get the win, striking out five batters and walking three. Sahlberg hit the game-winning double for Truckee.
Chapman was 2 for 3; Tonon 2 for 4 with a double; Hooper 2 for 5 with a double; Mazzini 3 for 4 with a double; Sahlberg 2 for 5 with a double; Flynn 2 for 4; and Harvey 1 for 3. Truckee was 11 for 12 in stolen base attempts.
Chapman has five home runs on the season and Tonon has two.
The Truckee High varsity softball team won both games of a doubleheader 19-0 and 23-5 against Incline last Thursday. The Wolverines then lost two games against Dayton 7-6 and 8-6 on Saturday.
At the plate against Dayton in Game 1, Katie Geresy went 2 for 3 with an RBI and run scored, Dani Turner 1 for 3 with a home run, two RBIs and a run and Katie Zusy 2 for 4. In the second game against Dayton, Jordan Raber went 4 for 4 with an RBI and a run, Dani Turner 2 for 4 with two RBIs, four stolen bases and a run and Amanda Jones 1 for 2 with a double, run and RBI.
Truckee’s junior varsity baseball team split a doubleheader against Dayton last Saturday. The Wolverines won the fist game 10-4 behind the pitching of Clayton McDonnell. Offensively in the game, Pablo Esquivel went 3 for 3 with four RBIs; Michael Fagan 1 for 2; Tucker Nevin 1 for 4; Michael Taylor 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI; and Nick Tennant 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Truckee lost the second game 10-9. C.J. Ackerman went 1 for 4 with an RBI; Trevor Allen 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs; Kevin Decker 2 for 3; Esquivel 1 for 3; Evan Highland 2 for 3; Erik Petterson 1 for 3 with an RBI; and Justin Vosburgh 2 for 2 with two RBIs.
Truckee’s JV softball team won both games of a doubleheader 15-3 and 27-6 against Incline last Thursday.
Offensively for the Wolverines in the first game, Allee Macrorie went 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Lauren Cowden was 2 for 3 with two runs; Annie Duner 1 for 3 with three runs; Ali Tucker 2 for 3 with a first-inning grand slam and five RBIs; Hannah Zusy 2 for 3 with a triple; Megan Licciardo 1 for 3; Ashlyn Aulwurm 2 for 3; Kati Murphy 1 for 3; and Jaimee Raber 1-3.
Katie Murphy pitched for Truckee and struck out eight Incline hitters.

Hailey Petzoldt pitched the first two innings and had two strikeouts. Katie Zusy pitched the last two innings and also struck out two.
The Wolverines split a doubleheader with Dayton on Saturday, losing the first game 16-15 and winning the second.
In Game 1, Annie Duner hit a triple and scored three runs; Ali Tucker was 3 for 4; and Hannah Zusy hit a double. Kati Murphy pitched the entire game and had eight strikeouts.
Truckee won the second game behind the pitching of Hannah Zusy, who also hit a triple and stole home to put the Wolverines ahead by 10, which ended the game. Ali Tucker hit a home run, and Annie Duner was 2 for 2.
