Squaw Valley bridge work almost done
Sierra Sun
Drivers worried about traffic on Squaw Valley Road won’t be slowed by the bridge construction come ski season.
The bridge replacement has slowed traffic to one lane since mid-July. A new bridge was needed as the old was worn down from the wear and tear of Sierra weather and Squaw Valley traffic.
Granite Construction poured the concrete last Monday and two lanes will be open again in a few weeks, said Robert Miller, Placer County’s public information assistant.
Additional work will be needed on the bridge, but will no longer obstruct traffic. Placer County Public Works is running the project and expect everything to be complete by mid-October.
