OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. and#8212; Squaw Valley still has Wanderlust.
Nearly 5,000 people attended the two-day music and yoga festival last July at the North Shore ski resort.
and#8220;We have every intention of coming back,and#8221; organizer Jeff Kranso said afterward. and#8220;It was an incredibly positive experience for us. It seems like everybody had a really, really great time.and#8221;
Kranso backed up his words this week, announcing a second Wanderlust Festival will be held July 29-Aug. 1, 2010.
Teacher and artist lineups as well as ticket information will be published at Tahoe.com and Wanderlust.com and published in Lake Tahoe Action.
Artists at the first festival included Common, Jenny Lewis, Spoon, Girl Talk and Midnight Twister. The stage was atop Gold Coast, which was accessed by a funital lift.
Wanderlust yogis included John Friend, Shiva Rea, Annie Carpenter and Schuyler Grant.
Kranso originally planned to present Wanderlust at several North America locations throughout the summer but elected to start with just the one in 2009 at Squaw Valley. While it appears the festival may be exclusively at Squaw again next summer, Krasno doesnand#8217;t want it to get too big.
It needs to be relatively small to make it a good experience for the festival-goers, he said after last yearand#8217;s festival. Wanderlust would lose its charm if 20,000 attended. The first event revealed things that need and#8220;tweaking,and#8221; he said.
