A Squaw Valley music festival scheduled to take place in early January has been postponed.

Last Chair Festival organizers announced the concert would not take place as scheduled in a Dec. 21 post on the festival’s Facebook page. Additional information was posted on Squaw’s website.

“We have made the decision to postpone the 2014 Last Chair Festival and are currently working to lock in new dates,” according to the site. “The Last Chair Festival had an amazing inaugural year, and the buzz and popularity of 2013 made us pause to ensure we are delivering a venue, amenities and live music shows worthy of our loyal fans and guests. We sincerely apologize to those of you who have already purchased tickets or made plans to book.”

Tickets already purchased to the event will be refunded. Details of the refund are available on Squaw’s website.

The 2nd annual Last Chair Festival was scheduled to take place at Squaw Valley Jan. 9-11 and feature acts including the Flaming Lips, Fitz and the Tantrums and Jurassic 5.

Squaw Valley is hoping to re-book some of the acts for mid-February, said Squaw spokeswoman Amelia Richmond in an email. She said the resort hopes to have an update regarding the postponement soon.
