Students evacuated from North Tahoe High/Middle School

An unknown odor was detected in the building at North Tahoe High School. The students of the high school and middle school have been evacuated as a precaution. The decision has been made to release the students at 2 p.m. by bus and student drivers will be released as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

School district Director of Facilities John Britto said rumors of smoke

proved to be untrue and that North Tahoe Fire Protection District personnel are currently on site. Britto said students should expect to return to school as

scheduled on Monday, Sept. 10.
