‘Suicide: A Complicated Grief’ presentation set for Friday

The next Sierra College Insights presentation, “Suicide: A Complicated Grief,” featuring Dr. Kim Bateman is set for Friday, Oct. 14.

Do you know someone who committed suicide or care about someone who has lost a dear one to suicide? Maybe you are just interested in learning more?

On Oct. 14, Bateman, Executive Dean and Psychology Professor at the Truckee Sierra College campus, will address myriad intense responses that accompany suicides. Topics will include guilt, vulnerability, despair, anger and powerlessness, and the interactive session will shine a spotlight on compassion for oneself as well as for lost loved ones.

Distinguished for her thought-provoking and entertaining presentations, Bateman recently authored “Crossing the Owl’s Bridge: A Guide for Grieving People Who Still Love.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with complimentary refreshments from Starbucks. The free program runs from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended. Visit sierracollege.ticketleap.com for details and to reserve a seat.
