Sun news service
A building ridge of high pressure aloft will bring sunny skies, light winds and warmer temperatures over the next few days.
Highs today are forecast to reach the upper 40s to lower 50s around the lake and the upper 30s at the 8000 foot resort level. Lows tonight are expected to dip into the teens under clear skies and light winds.
Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 50s on Saturday and Sunday at lake level under the strong high pressure ridge. A dry air mass and clear skies will allow minimum temperatures to drop into the upper teens to lower 20s Saturday night. These temperatures are about 5 to 10 degrees above normal for the highs and near normal lows.
Changes in the weather are forecast next week as the Pacific jet stream or storm track sags slowly south from the Pacific Northwest into Northern California.
Look for breezy to windy conditions much of next week along with a cooling trend. The best chance of rain or snow is forecast to come around Wednesday. Stay tuned to see if this pattern change will result in any significant snow accumulations as it affect travel and recreation for the coming week.
