Sunny days with a warming trend through the weekend

High pressure aloft will continue to build into the area this weekend for sunny skies, light winds and warmer daytime temperatures.

Highs today are forecast to reach the mid 40s at lake level and near 40 at the 8,000 foot resort level. Lows tonight are expected to drop into the single digits to low teens at lake level and the lower 30s above 7,000 feet as a strong temperature inversion develops in this stable airmass.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to climb into the lower 50s both Saturday and Sunday at lake level and the mid 40s at 8000 feet. These high temperatures are around 10 degree above the seasonal normal for mid February.

Enjoy the nice weather while it last this weekend because changes are forecast on the latest computer models for next week. Stay tuned to see if this pattern change will bring a significant amount of rain or snow to the area later in the week.
