Susman holds seat by 53 votes, Green also wins

Staff reportsWith 13 of 13 Truckee precincts reporting, only 53 votes separated incumbent candidates Ron Florian and Josh Susman for one of the two seats on the Truckee Town Council.Susman tallied 2,921 votes while Florian received 2,868. Barbara Green picked up 3,185 votes, placing her in the other open seat on the council, according to unofficial results from the Nevada County Elections Office. Richard Anderson was the only candidate running for a two-year seat left vacant when Ted Owens ran for the county board of supervisors.Meanwhile, the three candidates supported by the Community Airport Restoration Effort clobbered the five others running for three seats on the Truckee Tahoe Airport District board of directors. Kathleen Eagan collected about 23.5 percent of the votes followed by Mary Hetherington at about 22 percent and Paul Vatistas with 17.75 percent.The next closest vote getter was Ken Foster, with about 9 percent of the vote.The bid to build a Sierra College campus in Truckee, Measure H, won in a landslide, with nearly 68 percent of the vote. The measure needed 51 percent to pass.
