Suspect sought in Tahoe City hit-and-run vs. pedestrian

TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; Area law enforcement is looking for information leading to the arrest of a person suspected of a pedestrian hit-and-run collision last week in Tahoe City.

According to a California Highway Patrol press release, someone driving a and#8220;dark-colored Suburuand#8221; eastbound on Highway 28 in Tahoe City at about 9:20 p.m. last Saturday struck a 65-year-old Homewood resident who was using the pedestrian crosswalk at Grove Street.

According to CHP, witnesses said the Subaru fled the scene. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno for treatment. The Subaru sustained unknown front-end damage.

and#8220;Based on evidence left behind at the collision scene, the owner of the Subaru (possibly) lives locally,and#8221; the press release reads.
