Tahoe City boy, 17, killed in weekend motor bike accident
TAHOE CITY, Calif. and#8212; A local 17-year-old boy was killed Saturday in a motor bike accident.
Placer County Search and Rescue deputies located the 17-year old Tahoe City resident Saturday about a half mile north of the Tahoe City Nordic Center. Deputies pronounced him dead on arrival, according to a report taken by the California Highway Patrol.
Officers from CHP determined the juvenile was riding a 2004 Honda dirt bike and was wearing a helmet when he hit a rock on a trail which ejected him from the vehicle and inflicted fatal injuries.
The boys was reported missing late Saturday afternoon and deputies discovered his body shortly after 8 p.m.
CHP is still investigating the collision, according to the report.
