OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. and#8212; Deputies recently arrested two men, and one faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon following an alleged drunken brawl at the Village at Squaw.

According to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office press release, officials took Woodrow Wilson Taylor, of Tahoe City, and Mark Anthony Valko, of Susanville, both 22, into custody early Jan. 29 after a fight was reported outside Squaw’s Cornice Cantina.

Officers arrested Wilson for assault with a deadly weapon when a victim at the cantina was found bleeding profusely from a head wound, according to the press release. Witnesses alleged Wilson had struck the victim with a drinking glass.

Valko allegedly tried to evade officers when they arrived on scene a little after midnight. After officers detained Valko, he allegedly spit on them and challenged them to a fight. Valko was arrested for assault on a peace officer and vandalism.
