Tahoe City man charged with beating up 89-year-old

MARIN “-The Marin Independent Journal is reporting that a 27-year-old Tahoe City man accused of beating an 89-year-old Fairfax man in the street could face up to nine years in prison under charges filed Monday in Marin Superior Court, a prosecutor said.

Jeremy Joseph Raymond, 27, of Tahoe City was arraigned on charges of battery on an elder and battery causing serious bodily injury, said Deputy District Attorney Linda Witong. In addition, Raymond’s bail was increased from $25,000 to $500,000.

A plea hearing is pending.
