Tahoe Forest Hospital to host Measure C projects celebration

Tahoe Forest Health System is pleased to announce the completion of the final phase of its Measure C construction projects. The Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care opens this month.

A celebration will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, beginning at 4 p.m., with facility tours from 4 to 7 p.m.

The community is invited to attend and tour the following new and improved facilities:

• Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care.

• Long Term Care Center.

• Emergency Department.

• Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center.

The new Joseph Family Center for Women and Newborn Care is the final project in the 10-year building project supported by the Measure C general obligation bond.

The Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center was completed in July of 2012 and the remodel and addition to the Long Term Care Center was also completed in 2012.

The remodel and expansion of the Tahoe Forest Emergency Department was finalized in 2014.

The community ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. under the tent located at the parking lot next to the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center at 10121 Pine Ave. in Truckee.
