Tahoe Forest Hospital to offer free chronic disease, diabetes classes
TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Wellness Neighborhood, a service of Tahoe Forest Health System that encourages residents to “rethink healthy,” is hosting a pair of free disease self-management classes this winter and spring.
The evidence-based programs developed by Stanford University School of Medicine will take place by way of two six-week sessions, in which attendees will learn about decision-making, how to become a self-manager, understanding common symptoms, managing your medications and more.
First up is the Chronic Disease Self-Management Class, taking place Wednesdays, Feb. 24 to March 30, from 5-7:30 p.m.
Next is Diabetes Self-Management Class, on Wednesdays, April 20 to May 25 from 5-7:30 p.m.
For each class, participants must attend all six sessions. Meetings will take place at the Wellness Neighborhood Meeting Room, Suite 240, 10956 Donner Pass Road, in Truckee
