Tahoe man, 43, arrested, charged with 8 counts of embezzlement, fraud

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. and#8212; An investigation by law enforcement officials yielded an arrest this week of a Lake Tahoe man who allegedly embezzled thousands of dollars from a local property owner.

Eric Hosmer, 43, of Incline Village, was arrested on Wednesday, March 16, by Washoe County Sheriff’s Office detectives and charged with eight counts of theft.

According to a press release issued by WCSO Spokesman Armando Avina, Hosmer was employed as a groundskeeper by an Incline Village resident, who owns multiple properties in the community.

Hosmer was alleged to have submitted multiple fraudulent invoices demanding payment to the accounting firm of the alleged victim of the crimes, Avina said. Hosmer is accused of embezzling and#8220;thousands of dollars,and#8221; Avina said.

Hosmer was arrested at a construction site in Incline Village and transported to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility. His bail was set at $20,000.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming, Avina said.
