Tahoe pot bust: Two of three arrested face court dates next week

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. and#8212; Two of the three North Tahoe men charged with maintaining an illegal marijuana grow near Olympic Valley are scheduled to stand before a Tahoe City judge next week.

Steven Day, 48, of Olympic Valley, Matthew Steele, 28 of Tahoe City, and Christopher Egger, 23, of Tahoe City, were arrested Oct. 1 for allegedly trying to harvest a 200-plant grow in an area north of Squaw Valley.

Day and Steele face separate preliminary hearings before Placer County Superior Court Judge Trilla Bahrke in Tahoe City. Proceedings begin at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23.

Officials with the countyand#8217;s district attorneyand#8217;s office said a court date hasnand#8217;t yet been set for Egger.

The three each face a trio of felony charges and#8212; conspiracy to sell, possession of marijuana for sale and marijuana cultivation.
