Tahoe SAFE Alliance invites you to Flash Mob Dance
TAHOE/TRUCKEE, Calif. — Tahoe SAFE Alliance invites community members to participate in One Billion Rising’s (www.onebillionrising.org) Flash Mob Dance on Feb. 14, 3:10 p.m. in downtown Truckee. Truckee High School students, Inner Rhythms Dance Studio, local and global residents will dance “Break the Chain,” choreographed by Debbie Allen on this day. Find the dance routine online, Google “Break the Chain.”
One in three women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than one billion women and girls. This year’s movement is focused on justice. Tahoe SAFE Alliance is focusing on seeking justice for all the world’s daughters healing from violence.
Support One Billion Rising by participating in the Flash Mob Dance. Wear red and black to demonstrate solidarity and support. Arrive no later than 3 p.m. in front of the train station in downtown Truckee.
It is only when we rise, stand, and take action that wounded women in our community and around the world can begin to heal.
